Department Head Duties:
1. Acting as a representative of the department head in some of the powers delegated by the department head by supervising the organization of department affairs.
2. Representing the department head at regular meetings, deanship meetings, and any meeting authorized by the department head, or in the department head's absence.
3. Coordinating and developing the department's relationships within the college and university, as well as externally.
4. Participating in supervising the provision of all the department's educational, research, administrative, and financial requirements.
5. Implementing and following up on the decisions of the department council.
6. Submitting memoranda to the department head regarding any failure to meet required duties or any other violations committed by students or department staff.
7. Assisting the department head in preparing quarterly and annual academic reports on the department's academic activities.
8. Assisting the department head in assigning students to training sites and distributing supervision to department members.
9. Assisting the department head in supervising the academic affairs of students at various academic levels.
10. Submit special memoranda to issue the necessary administrative orders related to the department's academic affairs after obtaining the approval of the department head and the deanship.
11. Assist in distributing lessons to faculty members in the academic department.
12. Assist in developing the department's study and examination schedules.
13. Assist in holding meetings with male and female students in the department at least once per semester to identify their needs and the problems and difficulties they face during their academic career at the university. This meeting will listen to their suggestions and opinions, find the necessary solutions, and submit recommendations to the dean of the college, if necessary.
14. Sign the lecture fee disbursement form for external and department faculty.
15. Recommend approval for granting university service employees regular leave on behalf of the department head when the latter is absent.
16. Submitting memoranda recommending the issuance of dismissal decisions due to absence for students who exceed the permitted percentage of students in a department or branch, in accordance with applicable regulations.
17. Submitting memoranda to the department chairperson recommending the issuance of warning orders and the failure of students due to absences or negligence or violation of rules and regulations.
18. Supervising the preparation of classrooms and the provision of necessary supplies for theoretical and practical lessons.
19. Supervising the preparation of the theater hall for various activities.
20. Monitoring student compliance with university regulations, instructions, and uniforms.
