Assistant Professor Dr. Basim Yaseen
The Dean of the College of Science is the administrative and educational official of the college, and plays a pivotal role in directing all academic and research activities within the educational institution. His goals and duties include the following:
Dean's goals:
1. Raising the level of education: Working to improve the quality of academic education and ensuring excellence in academic programs.
2. Encouraging scientific research: Supporting and promoting research activities within the college, and motivating faculty members and students to participate in research.
3. Human resource development: Developing the skills of faculty members and staff, and working to employ the best competencies.
4. International cooperation: Strengthening relations with other academic institutions locally and internationally to exchange knowledge and experiences.
5. Meeting the needs of the community: Working to develop programs that meet the needs of the labor market and society, while contributing to achieving sustainable development.
Duties:
1. Academic administration: Organizing and managing academic programs, and ensuring their compliance with higher education standards.
2. Communication with external parties: Representing the college in academic and professional meetings and events, and interacting with other institutions.
3. Developing strategic plans: Developing and following up on the college's developmental strategic plans.
4. Follow-up on financial affairs: Managing the college's budget and financial resources, and ensuring that they are used efficiently and transparently.
5. Supervising student affairs: Intervening and solving problems facing students, and working to improve the learning and study environment.
In general, the Dean of the College of Science is a link between the college administration and its students, and he has great responsibilities that contribute to achieving the goals of the educational institution.

Headship and membership of committees to establish the Department of Computer Technology Engineering and scientific branches (computer security and networks) and (network management).
Research Interests: information security, cryptology, DNA based cryptanalysis.
